Cinematic Express

Hello Taints. I would like to inform everyone that 2012 is starting off the year pretty hot in the movie department. Lot of good movies have either come out, or soon to be viewed in theaters. This is the beginning to my weekly critical blog. Each week it will be something new. So stay posted.

I refuse to talk about devil inside me as it may have been the worst hour and 29 minutes of my life.

I would first like to start off with a crowd favorite: Mark Wahlberg.  Contraband. Contraband Slid into the #1 spot in the box office with a $28.8 million dollar debut. This film made more in its debut than SHOOTER, MAX PAYNE, AND THE FIGHTER. Yet rotten tomatoes only gave it 48%. You are probably wondering how this is possible, those are some fabulous movies it has passed up and didn’t even get a good rating. Well let’s think about it… Contraband came out January 13th. (this past weekend). Anything particular about last weekend. Yes, Martin luther king day. This caused a 4 day weekend. You can imagine how packed the theaters were on friday, saturday, and sunday. Well what about monday. Give it up for the movie planners behind this stellar idea. Contraband had outdone itself. Contraband was given an A- by the audience. Contraband is about drug smuggling. Glad us Americans enjoyed it.

Beauty and the Beast has made a come back from 1991 and this time in 3D! #2 at the box office this week behind contraband. Pretty solid for a remake movie that was popular in the 90’s.

Next up coming out on January 20th is: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. This Film Stars Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock. This is a about a boy who loses his father in the terrorist attack on 9/11 2001 and is left a key from his father. He is convinced this key leads to something more and determined to find exactly what that is. Should be a heart warming film and is looking to be the top dog for that week. As 9/11 is relevant to all of our lives, might wanna show up a little early if you want to get a good spot for this showing.

Also coming out January 20th is: Haywire. Haywire has quite the cast. Not quite like oceans 11 but i would say a step below which still says a lot. Starring Gina Carano (MMA superstar), Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas, Michael Angarano. This movie is interesting because the main character in this action packed film is a female. You won’s usually see this as men are clearly more entertaining but look for a surprise coming from Gina Carano as she performs many adrenaline filled stunts. Lets see if she can pull it off.

January 27th a few more movies are coming out. One being: The Grey. Starring Liam Neeson. Liam neeson is a beast. Nuff said.

My sleeper movie of the month… Man on a Ledge. Don’t know much about it except a guy is on a ledge.

And safe house with Denzel looks damn good. He is black. Talks like he is white. And in movies. he can act black or white. this is what we call a DUAL ACTOR.
